Privacy policy
Reviewed 6 August 2026, in the same pass that re-verified the tariff and hardware figures the worksheets on this site run on.
The short version
This is a set of static pages with worksheets on them. There is no account to create, no quote request, no installer referral, no lead form and nothing to buy, which removes most of the reasons a site would want to know anything about you.
The calculators on this site run entirely in your browser and do not transmit or store the numbers you enter.
That matters more here than on most calculators, because the figures you type are financial: what you were quoted, what your household consumes, what an outage is worth to you. None of it leaves the device. There is no server to receive it, which is a stronger guarantee than a promise not to look.
What we ask you for
Nothing at all. There is no form on this site, and the contact page prints an email address rather than a widget, so getting in touch never means handing your details to a script first. Mail sent to that address sits in an ordinary mailbox until it is dealt with, and no list is built from it.
Hosting records
Whoever serves these pages keeps the request log every web host keeps: the path asked for, the time, an address, a browser string. Those records exist for security and for keeping the site up. We do not profile from them and we do not join them to anything.
Advertising
The sentence below is rendered from the same build flag that decides whether any advertising script is included at all, so it cannot describe a state this build is not in.
No advertising code runs on this site today.
Once ads serve, third-party vendors, including Google, will use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or to other websites, and where you have consented, ads may be personalized based on those prior visits.
The opt-out controls below are operated by Google and by an industry body, not by us, which is why they are worth knowing about whether or not this particular site ever carries an advertisement.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com.
You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting https://www.aboutads.info.
Those Google-operated controls exist independently of this site and work whether or not this site shows ads.
Consent and your privacy choices
A consent manager records a decision about advertising cookies. This build has no advertising cookies for you to decide about, and putting a banner up regardless would be a performance rather than a control.
No consent management platform runs on this site today, because there is no advertising code to consent to.
If this site is approved for Google AdSense, advertising will ship together with Google's certified consent management platform (AdSense Privacy and messaging with Consent Mode v2), which shows a consent message to visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, and a US states privacy message where state privacy laws apply; declining the US states privacy message means Google serves ads under restricted data processing.
The "Privacy choices" link in the footer of every page currently opens this section of the privacy policy; once the consent platform is live, the same link will reopen the consent manager and will serve as the opt-out-of-sharing mechanism under applicable US state privacy laws.
What third parties collect
With no third-party script on the page, there is nothing for a third party to work with, so this section is short by construction rather than by omission.
What third parties collect: no advertising vendor collects anything from your visit today, because no ad code runs on this site.
If Google AdSense approves this site and ads begin serving, advertising vendors, including Google, may collect cookie and device identifiers and activity data to serve and measure ads — identifiers that can constitute personal information under state law — and this policy will be updated in the same deploy.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
If ads ever serve here and state law treats sharing data for targeted advertising as a "sale" or "sharing," the opt-out will be the "Privacy choices" footer link (restricted data processing) and the Google links above.
Analytics
Measurement sits behind its own build flag, entirely separate from the advertising one, and that flag is off in the build you are reading right now.
This build of the site includes no analytics script — nothing counts or records your visit.
When analytics is enabled, it will be Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless service that does not use cookies or track you across sites, and this section will be updated in the same deploy.
Children
This is a reference about household energy economics. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly hold anything from them. If you think a child has written to the contact address, say so and the message will be deleted.
Your rights
Where you live may give you rights to know what is held about you, to have it deleted or corrected, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising. Because this site holds so little, this page answers most such requests on its own. For anything further, write to the contact address naming the right you are exercising; asking will never change how you are treated here.
Changes
The advertising and analytics sections are generated from the flags that control the code, so they change in the same deployment as the code rather than at some later date. Substantive edits move the review date printed under the heading.
